Dr. Mary Kronenwetter is by birth and disposition a New Englander and grew up in a 19th century farmhouse. She holds a doctorate in education and has taught at colleges in the United States, China, and Japan. Mary lives in the Dartmouth-Lake Sunapee Region of New Hampshire and has served as a museum educator at Historic Deerfield, The John Hay Estate at The Fells and the Enfield Shaker Museum.

Mary is a New Hampshire Humanities scholar and travels across the state offering programs on the history, literature, and culture of the Granite State. She teaches on the craft and history of writing in classes and workshops at The Fells, OSHER at Dartmouth, AIL at Colby College, and various conferences and book festivals. She was involved with the Woodstock-based festival "Bookstock" for many years. Mary is the author of the New Hampshire-based historical fiction, “Pauper Auction” (2022, Stone Fence Press). She believes that historical fiction authors have the opportunity to give voice to the voiceless by weaving together authentic details about the past while simultaneously sharing timeless stories about the human condition.
